One’s mental illness often
emerges as a crisis for the whole family. The new situation presents
the carers with many challenges and creates a need for information and
support.
The Family Association Promoting
Mental Health in Tampere is an association that provides support for
carers and relatives of mental health patients.
Our mission is to promote
well-being and strength of people with a family member suffering from
mental health issues by providing them with flexible help and support. The Tampere branch covers the
whole Pirkanmaa region. We offer support for the entire family from
the children to the elderly. The foundation is funded by Finland’s
Slot Machine Association (RAY). The services for carers are
either free of charge or include a small excess.
